A couple of interesting Little things happened this week. In one day, we taught two Atheists! One wasn't positive at all. The other was a totally different story. He happily let us in and listened to what we had to say. At the end, without us asking, he asked about church so he could attend. I got super excited and was thinking that I was about to baptize an atheist! Then, on Sunday, I called him to remind him of church. He said that he read the Little pamphlet that we gave him, but he didn't like it. And that he doesn't want to keep hearing us. That's sad news. But, we've planted the seed. One day, he'll be interested again.
Right after that, we had a great Little experience with a couple of drunk guys. We started knocking doors to see how open the people would be to us this day. We knocked one door, then Heard the singing of an old drunk guy strumming his guitar. He started to chant-sing ''Mormons...they're going to hell. Mormons...they just keep lying. Mormons...'' I couldn't help but just laugh. Then, I went and sat down next to him. I told him my name then he sang me a song. ''Elder Hunt (not quite pronounced right) is going to hell...And his companion too...They don't teach the truth...They're going to hell...'' The funniest Little chant-songs ever! I asked to get a video, but he didn't allow me. Then his friend came up. He started to support us chant-singing about how we're preaching the Word of God and that it's all true. You've gotta love the drunks of Guatemala.
My theme for this week? James 2:18. 'Show my thy faith without thy Works and I will show thee my faith by my Works.' What power does that sentence contain! I have literally been working like a crazy person and just killing my companion. Walking so fast and be so focused on the work of the Lord.
I'll start trying to make my weeks more interesting so that I have more to say. I really just don't have time to write in my journal, so it's hard to remember what's been up with me.
Oh yea, cleaning inspections went well! We didn't get in trouble or anything, so that's a big plus!
With much love,
Elder Hunt
